Harrow

Harrow Town Centre

As a shopping destination Harrow caters for all tastes, from a large selection of well known national retailers to a range of independent traders. From arts and crafts to high street fashion, Harrow offers both modern convenience shopping and fascinating quirky shops. Harrow forms a commercial hub in northwest London, including a well-connected town centre containing:

  • St Annes & St Georges Shopping Centres
  • A nine-screen cinema complex
  • Parades of shops throughout Station Road and the ascending, traditional College Road
  • Over 300m of a fully pedestrianized shopping/cafe streets roads (north of St Ann's)
  • Harrow on the Hill train station served by National Rail and London Underground trains, it is located between College Road and Lowlands Road in the Greenhill area of Harrow, about half a mile north of the locality from which it takes its name.


North Harrow

North Harrow is a suburban area of North West London, situated north-west of central Harrow within the London Borough of Harrow. Its residential roads have expanded from North Harrow Tube Station, a station on the Metropolitan line of the London Underground which is one stop away from Harrow on the Hill station in Harrow town centre. The area is served by several sought after schools which include Pinner Park first and Middle, Longfield Primary and Nower Hill High School.

West Harrow

As its name suggests, West Harrow is located on the western side of the London Borough of Harrow, and has a selection of character properties. There is a London Underground station which is on the Uxbridge branch of the Metropolitan line. St. Peter's Church is an beautiful Anglican church in the heart of West Harrow and Vaughan School can be found only a short walk from the station.

Harrow on the Hill

Home of the world famous Harrow boys public school which has produced seven prime ministers including Sir Winston Churchill and Jawaharlal Nehru, dominates surroundings.The school has influenced the development and growth of the town since the early 17th century when the beautiful Old Schools building became the first all-brick structure to be built in Middlesex, going on to provide a free education for local boys. Today, Harrow-on-the-Hill is an urban village caught in a time warp. It has the atmosphere of a university campus, with school buildings scattered around the roads running over the hilltop. The dark blue-and-white Harrow School signage can be seen on most of the buildings, while boys’ straw boaters in summer and muddy sports gear in winter are a common sight.

South Harrow

South Harrow has two recreational grounds, Alexandra Park was named after Queen Alexandra, who frequently visited the area. There is a children's play area, natural rough area, and fitness zone. Nearby is Northolt Park train station,(Chiltern Main Line). Roxeth Recreation Ground is a large recreational ground containing Cricket and Football pitches, Ball courts, natural roughland and a children's play area. South Harrow high street has a selection of shops, bars, restaurants as well as a Piccadilly line station. of Various Religious denominations have places of worship in South Harrow, including: Anglican, Catholic, Free Church, Methodist, Salvation Army and Welsh Congregational. Tamils and Koreans meet in churches on Sunday afternoons.

Harrow Weald

The Harrow Weald campus of Harrow College (previously a grammar school, then a 16+ college) and Harrow Weald Cemetery are at the northern edge of the built up area. All Saints churchyard and its extension adjoin this cemetery and their most famous interment is of Leefe Robinson, a pilot who was awarded the Victoria Cross. The area is well served by local buses and an over ground that provides access to Euston Station.

SUDBURY

Sudbury in Northwest London is located between Harrow Hill and Wembley, and as such is well serviced by local transport and access to central London. Both Sudbury Hill and Sudbury Town tube stations are on the Piccadilly line and Sudbury & Harrow Main line station is on the line to London Marylebone.

The close proximity of shopping at Harrow and Wembley leaves Sudbury as a mainly residential area, that includes both the Pebworth and the Sudbury Court Estates, which boast premium properties for local residents.

The sports facilities at Vale Farm are popular for those with an active Lifestyle, and Sudbury Golf Course is a leading local course that has been at its present location for nearly 100 years, members will receive a discount on fees from Brian Cox & Company.

Sudbury offers 3 local primary schools, all with good Ofsted reports and located such that there should always be one within walking distance from a home in the area.

GREENFORD

Greenford is a small residential town located in the west of greater London and lies conveniently between Ealing, Wembley and Harrow. The Majority of the housing was built in the 1930’s as the suburbs expanded, but it want until the post war era, and the arrival of the tube network that Greenford population really began to grow.

Historically, the main town centre was Greenford Broadway, which still had the majority of local shops and supermarkets, but the recent development of Westway cross shopping centre (link maybe) which is home to many major brand shops and restaurants and has ample parking for the many thousands of visitors it sees each week has seen an improvement of local shopping facilities that is unmatched in the local area.

Greenford further benefits from its excellent transport links in to Westfield shopping centre and central London on the Central line, which has oxford circus less than 30 minutes ride away, and the main line service to Paddington, which again is a journey of less than half and hour to a London Terminal. Local direct bus routes to Chiswick and its well-known high street that offers many top venues for a an evening out , Northwood, which again has good quality shopping and fine restaurants and probably most importantly, Heathrow Airport, which with the advent of cross rail and a third runway will no doubt see a vast increase in workforce and popularity.

The A40 goes through Greenford, again giving fantastic access to the M25 and central London for those who need road access and it is for this reason that many larger companies have historically chosen Greenford as the ideal place for head office placement and logistics centres. These have become major employers in the local area and the core of the local employment market.

The many local schools junior schools, and three high schools are there to reflect the predominantly residential nature of the area, with many family relocating to the area to take advantage. The William Perkings C of E high school (link maybe) is the most recent high school to be building the borough of Ealing and boasts a host of fantastic facilities that would be expected from a school built in the 21st century.

Local amenities include several parks with playgrounds, Horsenden Hill, which is a fantastic open area with Great views over London, and Brent Valley Golf course, which was established over 100 years ago.

NORTHOLT

Northolt is a town located in North West London and lies within zone 5 on the Central Line. There is good access to the West End of London and popular high street shops and restaurants in Ruislip which make the area a good choice for young professionals and families alike.

There are two stations in the area which are Northolt Central Line Tube Station (31 minutes to Tottenham Court Road) and Northolt Park Overground Station. Northolt Park is a Network Rail station served by Chiltern Railways (21 minutes to Marylebone Station).

There are also a number of local bus routes offering access to Heathrow, Ealing, Ruislip and numerous other locations. If you travel by road, the A40 is within easy reach with access to both the city and the Home Counties.

SOUTHALL

Southall is located to the west of London, and was once a small village that was centred on the Tudor Manor House that is still there today. The arrival of the Grand Union Canal to Birmingham, and the railway links to west country saw south grow and an industrial area in Victorian England.

The position to the west of London has become more beneficial with the advent of air travel and Southall’s proximity Heathrow Airport has seen industry continue to grow in varyingforms throughout the years, and now with the existing train station soon to form part of the new cross rail project, Southall will continue to flourish.

Uxbridge, with is large shopping centre, is a short bus ride to the west and is the closest main shopping centre, while The High Street in Southall is well known for its vibrant atmosphereand excellent Asian cuisine, many locals will have their own opinion of where the most authentic food is served.

Norwood Green to the south east of the town centre is well known for its larger houses and leafy suburb feel, and is very popular for property buyers looking for the next step on the ladder from many of the surrounding area’s.

Southall is home to Villiers High and Featherstone High, which is rated as an Ofsted outstanding school (2015), as well as many infant and juniors schools, many of which are highly rated. The Southall Campus for the Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College (EHWLC) (Link) has just had a £10m investment programme which see it now offering courses in the most modern subjects

HAYES &

YEADING


The town of Hayes is located directly to the west of Southall, and is in the London borough of Hillingdon. The town dates back to the doomsday book, but again, like much of the area, the increase in population come with the industry the followed the railway.

Hayes has been an industrial centre for many years, but has in recently years been the subject of much redevelopment and investment, much of which is linked to the fact that the centrally placed railway station, soon to be on crossrail, will be just a 20 minute train journey to Bond Street in London.

Property prices have been on the increase, and with the improvements in infrastructure, housing stock and transport links.

Yeading has been the subject of much redevelopment over the past 25 years with the Glencoe estate off of Broadmead Avenue and the Yeading Marina Area. The building of the Tesco Superstore and adjacent B&Q DIY centre are reflecting the residential nature of the area.

Yeading marina is home to canal view apartments and a popular bar/restaurant, and with easy access with local bus routes to Hayes town and the coming Crossrail link will see the area remain popular with home buyers and investors alike.

WEMBLEY

Wembley in northwest London is most well known as the home of the National Football Stadium and Wembley Arena, a leading venue for many events from concerts to the X-factor, and is a well-established residential area with good transport connection.

The area has been extensively redeveloped and since the building of the new stadium and has seen many new apartment blocks, parking and a new outlet mall built in the last 5 years which has really transformed the area.

Property prices in the area have reflected this development and the fact that Wembley is so well connected to central London with two tube stations, Wembley Central on the Bakerloo Line, and Wembley Park servicing both the Jubilee and Metropolitan line, as well as Wembley stadium overground station that is just 15 minutes from London Marylebone.

The two High schools, Wembley High Technology College and Preston Manor High, and many primary schools in the area along with the good transport make Wembley a popular location for families and young professional alike.
